Charlotte Personal Trainer Julie is HALESTORM FITNESS!
I love living in the Charlotte area. The mild weather allows for physical training outside most of the year. While training always plan your snacks well. On hot days after working out and wanting an ice cream style treat that supports my workout I turn to my banana pop. They are packed with energy and loaded with potassium , I love how creamy and delicious they are.

Quick Lite Meal In Less Than 5 Minutes
I threw together a few ingredients tonight and I’m calling it my American version of Fou. If you are unfamiliar with Fou its a Vietnamese soup. My delicious American version of Fou has Chicken broth, parsley noodles, carrots, lemon juice, spinach leaves, ginger, salt and cayenne pepper. Pop in the microwave for 1-2 minutes. Enjoy!

Simple Healthy Dish
So what’s in it? Quinoa, cucumbers, tomatoes, fresh parsley, feta cheese, lemon or lime juice, lite salt, cayenne pepper and basil. I also like to some times add chicken to mix it up. Mix and serve warm or at room temperature. This dish is very quick and simple to make. Bon appétit!

Got Fiber?
Beans beans good for the heart, be smart and fill your cart with beans~! One cup of cooked beans provides about 12 grams of fiber. Fiber is good for our digestion, and will help you feel fuller longer and fill up more quickly. Beans are an excellent food choice for anytime of the day. I buy beans at Trader Joe’s for $1.19 a can but Aldi now sells the same can of bean’s for .79! That’s .40 per can savings plus 5 additional ounces of beans!

Healthy Tasty Spinach Salad
Hi Fitness Family,
For lunch I made a delicious nutrient filled salad with spinach, sunflower seeds, raisins, carrots, celery, apples, onions and ground turkey with hummus as dressing. Hummus a thick paste made from ground chickpeas, sesame seeds, olive oil, lemon, and garlic, made originally in the Middle East. You can buy hummus in the vegetable section at your local grocery store or get crafty and make your own hummus.
